Elasticity started out as a POV-Ray utility used to apply complex deformations to simple meshes. Since then, it has grown up a bit, and now encompasses other 3D formats including trueSpace and SoftF/X. Additionally, DXF support provides extra flexibility in working with other modellers and render engines.
Mesh deformations are accomplished in Elasticity by using a variety of tools. Each tool has a unique shape and action, and is described with several parameters. Any tool parameter may be manipulated over time in order to create animations. Tools may be applied immediately, or may be listed in a 'transform file'. A transform file is a text file which may be edited with any text editor, and then applied to a mesh.
Elasticity is not a general purpose modeller, nor is it a render engine. It is useful for deforming objects which have been built by an external modeller. A simple mesh generator has been built in to allow for the quick production of common primitives such as cubes, cones, spheres etc. Particle clouds (not particle systems) may also be built in a few different common shapes, or spawned from existing meshes.
Note: This version has saving of meshes disabled
To install: Unzip elastic.zip file into a new folder. There are a few DLL's and VBX's included. If you don't already have these, place them in your windows/system folder.
